The Procurement Specialist will be reporting to Carta’s Head of Procurement and will be involved in tactical procurement across the entire procure-to-pay cycle for all indirect functions. The position will work closely with teams like Compliance, Security and Legal to complete the procurement process.
The role will involve partnering and collaborating with business owners to facilitate recommendations for supplier evaluation/selection/contracting to reduce total cost of ownership, increase value to Carta, and minimize risk. You will also carry spend analysis, and formulate category plans. In this growth environment, you will help identify important strategic tools, such as innovative cloud-based eSourcing and eProcurement solutions, and be actively participating in the implementation of such tools.
Responsibilities:Working collaboratively at senior levels within Engineering, Marketing, Support, and Legal & Compliance function to facilitate their procurement activities to ensure Carta gets favorable business and commercial terms.Overseeing sourcing processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP, and direct negotiations).Analyzing Carta’s current spend and supplier base and ensure our vendors are delivering value out of our current investments.Identifying, monitoring, and mitigating third-party or vendor risk in our supplier base.Reviewing Carta’s current procurement processes and provide recommendations for process improvement.Design, track, generate & update reports including but not limited to Category Plans, Cost Savings, Spend Analysis, and Contract Management.Proactively manage upcoming procurement actions such as project timelines, contract renewals, notices, and negotiations.Implement and administer procurement systems.Build preferred supplier base programs with the business, when required.Maintain an active knowledge base on technology trends and developments to provide expert advice to our business owners.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience in indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, and vendor management.Comprehensive knowledge of contract negotiation and sourcing methodologies.Ability to develop, cultivate, and maintain complex working relationships.Advanced understanding of RFPs (Request for Proposal), SLAs (Service Level Agreement) and vendor scorecards.A strategic thinker focused on improving efficiencies, scale, and minimizing company risk.Strong negotiation skills in securing key contractual terms & conditions.Ability to analyze data and effectively communicate interpretations and recommendations.Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced complex changing environment.Cost modeling skills using Excel or other tools.Clear and effective written and verbal communication.Experience working with a procure-to-pay system.
