This is an exciting opportuity for an exceptional candidate to join our developing multidisciplinary team and lead the safeguarding agenda for Babylon Health The role of the Safeguarding Clinical Lead is to act as a resource for the Babylon Healthcare (Clin Ops) team and to liaise with;·       GP at Hands Safeguarding Executive Lead/Lead GP and Local Lead Nurses/GPs.·       The local Safeguarding Named Professionals and Designated Professionals of their commissioning CCG the local Social Services Department, Health Visitors etc

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in safeguarding meetings and other subcommittees of the Local Safeguarding Board (LSBs Adults and Children) and PREVENTAdvise local police, children’s social care and other statutory and voluntary agencies on health matters with regard to safeguarding vulnerable adults / child protection and PREVENT.Provide signposting to other professionals within the service. Oversee safeguarding quality assurance and improvement processes within the service Manage a caseload of patients as required.Take lead responsibility for and be the local point of call for MCA and  DoLs queries.Ensure  adherence to the Babylon Safeguarding Children’s Policy, Safeguarding Adults Policy including MCA and DoLs and PREVENT and ensure there are localised protocols for safeguarding / child protection which are in accordance with guidance from their LSB/safeguarding panel and from their commissioning organisation.Attend and contribute to internal Safeguarding meetings as requiredBe responsible for delivering face-2-face level 3 safeguarding training.o   We will ensure access to level 4 training and safeguarding train the trainer training.To be responsible for delivering safeguarding supervision internally as requiredAccess safeguarding supervision as required
In addition Act in accordance with the roles and responsibility of the current Intercollegiate Guidelines applicable to role. Ensure personnel training is up to date and commensurate with role

Qualifications:

NMC registrant (Part 1 of the register)HCP (HCPC register)Desirable: Completed specific training in safeguarding children/ child protection and young people (which includes law, policy, and MCA and DoLs). Level 4 adults and children trained.    

Experience:

Evidence of practice/experience related to caring for older patients or vulnerable groups of patients such as those with mental health issues/learning difficulties as appropriate to role.Awareness of mental capacity act and deprivation of libertiesDesirable:Be developing or already be acknowledged to have safeguarding / child protection expertise.

Professional Skills:

Willing to deal and advise on complex situations which could be disturbing in content.Knowledge of methods of developing clinical quality assurance and evidence based practice.
