Carta is seeking a flexible and strategic HR professional who will act as a business partner for our New York and New Jersey offices. As a Geo HRBP, you will play both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full life cycle Human Resources support across our 100+ person and growing New York and New Jersey offices. You will collaborate with Functional HRBP leads across the company to create, implement, and support various employee relations, programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. Your primary focus will be to act as an employee champion and change agent, proactively communicating needs with our HR department and business management. This role will be part of a fun, passionate, and dynamic HR team and it requires strong team collaboration across multiple locations, though primary responsibility and partnership will be the New York and New Jersey based teams.


Work with business groups and functional HRBPs to create and implement innovative solutions for employee engagement initiatives within these officesMonitor the “pulse” of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagementProvide on the ground employee relations support within these officesBeing an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environmentDrive our People strategy to meet business objectivesProactively assess employee pain points and, in consultation with management, develop workable solutionsAbility to think creatively when solving problems (rather than relying simply on HR “best practices”)Provide guidance and input on workforce planning, succession planning, compensation, benchmarking, etc.Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory complianceSuccessfully influence others by providing direction, knowledge, and support to create a high-performing organizationMentor and coach our managers to be world classUse data, empathy, and good judgement to approach business and people problemsBuild strong relationships with employees, management, and executives in our New York and New Jersey offices


Experience working in a fast-paced technology company3+ years of HR experienceA track record of successfully coaching and influencing individual contributors and leaders in previous rolesOutstanding people skills – high degree of empathy and a great communicator (both written and verbally)Great organizational skills, high attention to detail, and an ability to complete competing priorities quicklyAbility to interface effectively with professionals at all levels of the organizationMust maintain confidentiality and use outstanding judgement on a daily basisProven experience in conflict resolution within a complex and matrixed environmentTeam player with a sense of ownership and “get things done” attitude
