The Role x You

The Line Producers write teases that make people want to keep watching, pitch and execute show segments and guest booking ideas. You will help to build compelling shows under deadlines. You create the daily rundown, from story placement to graphics and all other editorial and production elements. You'll communicate with reporters, guests and control room staff to execute rundown. You have the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and assignments.

Essential to the control room as well as with the show team are excellent communication skills. Line Producers work well under pressure and will develop a clear understanding of the Vice style of storytelling, acting as a team lead and fill-in for the supervising producer.

QUALIFICATIONS 

You have these:

  • 7+ years of professional experience at Television, Film, of Digital Media companies
  • 7+ years of experience as a line producer, including in your current role
  • Live news experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Communications, or related field
  • Solid news judgment with current experience line producing a news show
  • Ability to write clearly and effectively and assist with editorial planning.
  • Control room experience to guide control room and host(s) through breaking news
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Time/back-time the show in the control room
  • Rewrite copy as needed
