Job Description

The day-to-day activities:

Reporting in to the Head of Merchants, you will be responsible for developing merchant acquisition strategy and achievement of the assigned targets within the sales team. 

Be accountable for the growth of the business by acquiring and cross-selling different Grab products to existing and new partner merchants.

Manage the sales pipeline for all new prospects and merchants at every stage of the sales funnel. Be ready to help the team by riding along key and important meetings to assist with closure. 

Identify and build strong relationships with key merchants to solidify GrabFood’s position in the market 

Lead, coach and manage a high performing sales team. Drive sales team towards achieving and exceeding revenue targets and ensure critical milestones for monthly / quarterly / annual periods are consistently met. Proactively update sales reports and forecasts and track results against key performance metrics.

Train and develop sales team with the intent to raise the bar, to improve performance, cultivate creativity and increase team motivation 

Keep abreast of market changes and industry updates in order to develop action plans to meet market changes and merchants’ requirements;

Work closely with other business teams within Grab to establish strong value propositions

The must haves:

Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) required

Work Experience:

Candidates need to have at least 5 years of experience as a sales manager and at least 3 years management experience with P&L responsibilities in fast paced companies. Candidates with prior experience in Food & Beverage industry will be advantageous.

Excellent communication and presentation skills is a must.

Strong negotiation skills with an ability to effectively network within the industry and the overall Grab business. 

People skills:

Committed and highly collaborative sales leader who can coach and mentor their sales team while successfully establishing a healthy working culture based on Grab principles.

A strong operator with the ability to motivate a team whilst focusing on multiple projects

Ambitious, self-driven and highly motivated individual who can work well in a startup. Able to work independently but also a good team player 

Should have a deep desire to excel and develop a career in a fast growing tech company. Should have demonstrated integrity and respect in the performance of their duties.

Ability to build good relationships with merchants and match merchant needs and organization resources to grow GrabFood business

Energetic, enthusiastic and calm even in very dynamic and fast paced working conditions

Excellent time management and communication skills with excellent leadership skills

Proficiency in customer experience tools (CRM tools, reporting dashboards)

Excellent in data analysis (MS Office, Google Docs / Sheets / Slides), pipeline management and forecasting

Experience working with SFDC (Salesforce Dot Com) will be a plus
