Product Writer - Spending money with TransferWise – London At TransferWise, we have a clear mission — money without borders. Built by and for people who live global lives. In 2018, we got a little bit closer to achieving that mission. We launched the TransferWise debit card.  Today, we issue that card to customers all over the USA and Europe. We’re launching in Australia next. And we’re now looking for a talented Product Writer to help bring our green card to more people, in more countries, across the world. What you’ll be doing: You’ll be embedded in the Spend Money team, helping make sure customers have a great  experience when they order and use their TransferWise card. You’ll be guided by a Copy lead, and work with product managers, designers, analysts and everyone else needed to get it done. You’ll be a part of the wider Design team at TransferWise, too. So you’ll work daily with our team of writers, designers, and UX researchers. The Copy team will be your home — you’ll collaborate and share with other writers, and attend our weekly crits. Your day-to-day: At TransferWise, everyone gets a ton of freedom and autonomy. We won’t be micromanaging, so you’ll need to:  Write for the TransferWise product on web, iOS, and Android. This will make up most of your work, but sometimes you’ll dabble in other things, like emails. Work closely with product designers and managers to understand the problems our customers face when trying to order and use their card.  Use customer insights and writerly instincts to write, audit, and improve the content we show customers.  Establish a product writing process within your team.  Own the words and content strategy that goes into your team’s part of TransferWise. Work through the little details with engineers to make sure the stuff we ship is world-class. This role is for you if: You’re a great writer with experience crafting effective, empathetic, clear, and jargon-free copy. And if you’ve got a content design background, or experience writing for digital products or services, that’s even better.  You have 3+ years of writing experience, and a portfolio to prove it. You know how to build the case for great words within a business, and how critical they are for customers. You can give and receive feedback constructively, and you’re always keen to learn. You know how to work across different functions within a business, as well as across multiple offices and cultures. You’ve worked with minimal direction before. But you also know when to align with other writers and designers, and when to ask for help. You’re comfortable using design tools like Figma.  You like getting deep into data, and relish the idea of user testing your work.  This probably isn’t for you if:  You have a background in writing ads or social media content. This role is all about product. You need a structured briefing process to do your best work.  P.S. Qualifications aren’t that important to us. If you’ve got a great portfolio, and you’re top-notch at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you. And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we’d also love to hear from you if you’re from an under-represented demographic.  Send us your application by: 16th September, 2019.  Want to learn more? Writing company updates : Be the first point of contact in translating the work of 40+ autonomous teams into cohesive, single updates that communicate company progress in a succinct and engaging way. Defining success metrics : You’ve built out your own KPIs and success metrics before for internal communications channels and campaigns; and, you’re excited to build this capability from scratch. You’re wildly creative, with a natural super-sense for what makes a compelling story. You’re willing to get your hands dirty and go through walls to make things happen. You thrive in execution mode as much as when you’re strategising.  You flourish in a fast-paced environment and as such, you’re organised and your attention to detail is second to none. You’re self-sufficient and can demonstrate how you work independently and with minimal oversight. Excellent written and spoken English.  You have a naturally global mindset and are open to travel. We’re a global team, so you should feel comfortable spending time travelling and working out of our other offices at least once a quarter.
