The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams are looking for experienced and passionate software engineers and systems engineers who possess backgrounds in systems, programming and networking to help in ensuring that customers around the world can access Squarespace sites, that they load quickly, and that all of the features work. We work together with the product teams to maintain the reliability of our features that are backed by a fleet of microservices, with the infrastructure teams to grow our current data centers and build new ones, with the data teams to tackle challenging “big data” issues, and the security teams to keep a close eye on the latest vulnerabilities and protect our product, infrastructure and networks. The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams are also responsible for designing the systems that allow us to operate on our data centers and evolve the massive Squarespace software engine that serves millions of users worldwide. We implement software for internal DNS management, IP address allocation, and Linux image and package repositories. We build tools for the provisioning of compute capacity on top of VMware, Kubernetes clusters or public clouds. We work together with Server Engineering teams to scale up our storage, database and search infrastructure, which ingests close to 2 TBs of data per day. Our internal products include source code management tools, clusters of build agents for frontend and server-side code, automated testing infrastructure, Docker image generation tools, and continuous deployment pipelines, all used by 300+ software engineers in the wider organization. You will report to the team lead in NYC. The Developer Tools team engineers tools that facilitate pushing code to production and its userbase is all the developers at Squarespace. For example, we built a local development platform to develop Squarespace locally using a combination of Docker and in-house services. We are currently working on tools to run ephemeral, on-demand development environments on GKE. RESPONSIBILITIES Build and support tools to make the life of developers at Squarespace easier. Own internal services like Kubernetes, infrastructure components like MongoDB databases and Couchbase clusters, product-related services like our certificate management pipeline, and everything in between. Write high-quality infrastructure-as-code that automates the provisioning, deployment, scaling, and monitoring of Squarespace’s infrastructure and ensure it's redundant and fast around the globe. Collaborate with a team of engineers to test your ideas and understand the system, with an emphasis on mentoring and elevating junior team members. Interface with other engineers to negotiate, design and implement solutions that improves their efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, Go, or Ruby. Deep experience managing large-scale software and distributed systems in *nix environments. An understanding of and experience with, web application development. A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices. Understand database design, caching, scalability, and network fundamentals. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, or other CNCF software is a big plus. BS, or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent industry experience. As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you will work closely with the People and Finance teams to support and improve compensation-related processes and programs.  You will help manage the communication, design, implementation, and administration of Squarespace’s compensation programs, including job matching, salary surveys, merit planning, reporting and compliance.  You will use your strong analytical and data-driven mindset to ensure accuracy, competitiveness and insights for our overall compensation strategy. This role reports into our Director, Total Rewards and is based in our New York headquarters. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide support in administering and maintaining company-wide compensation programs Manages participation in external compensation surveys Manages the integrity of our global compensation ranges, including working closely with recruiting team to advise on cash and equity offer details Work with internal stakeholders to provide detailed market analysis on jobs and incumbents Create ad-hoc reports, compensation modeling, and analysis as necessary Works closely with the HR Strategy & Analytics team to ensure job levels and codes properly graded and maintained our HRIS Ensures compliance of all compensation programs with federal and state regulations by conducting periodic audits Aides in the completion of regulatory compliance reports such as the EEO-1 reports Works with internal and external auditors as needed Responsible for maintaining the compensation related sections of external-facing portals QUALIFICATIONS 6+ years of work experience in an analytical role preferably in consulting and finance Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced level Excel skills Ability to work in a versatile, fast paced and deadline oriented environment Strong teamwork skills required as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high growth, changing environment ABOUT SQUARESPACE Squarespace makes beautiful products to help people with creative ideas succeed.
