Plus, we offer 12 weeks parental leave for primary caregivers and 6 weeks for secondary caregivers.  Hippo Meals & Snacks- We cater lunch in our office 3 times a week and we provide all the snacks & drinks our Hippos can handle daily.  Hippo Habitat- Our modern office is located in downtown Palo Alto at the corner of High Street just around the corner from CalTrain.          Responsibilities Perform transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, allocations, eliminations and consolidation using NetSuite ERP system  Prepare detailed and well supported journal entries, account reconciliations that form part of monthly close accounting cycle and financial statements in accordance with USGAAP Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions Support in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results Analyze financial information and summarise financial status Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures Prepare and provide support for the preparation of audit schedules for external audit Be integral to the month-end and year-end close process Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Ensure compliance with internal control policies Requirements Active CPA with 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial and analytical roles. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Preferred Industry Exposure: Public Accounting (Big 4) and/OR InsurTech, FinTech, SaaS, Financial Services or Insurance Comprehensive knowledge and experience with general accounting, month-end close procedures, eliminations and consolidations, controls, internal reporting & analytics, and working with external auditors Good knowledge of US GAAP; conceptual and practical experience in researching, understanding and communicating technical accounting issues and conclusions Strong project management skills, attention to detail, accuracy, ability to work independently and multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment Strong communication skills (written and oral) Excellent Excel/spreadsheet skills, competency with MSWord and PowerPoint Hands-on working experience with NetSuite Strong attention to detail and accuracy Team player, works well within a group, happy to take on responsibilities outside your role when needed Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand the business   Hippo is an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to building a team culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.  Hippo’s applicants are considered solely based on their qualifications, without regard to an applicant’s disability or need for accommodation.
